The wooden beams seen below the ceiling of the stately home give the suite a special charm where the perfume of history leaves its scent on recalling that on the 22nd of April 1756, when the Marhal Louis François Armand de Vignerot du Plessis, Duke of Richelieu stayed in Alcaufar Vell and tasted, for the first time, mayonnaise sauce.
